  • Trust and security: Identity verified using official identity document, triggering of signature with one factor authentication (LOA 3)
    For instance:
    • Identity check when signing a contract with a mobile phone number
    • Expression of intent with mTAN

Advanced electronic signature

  • Legal weight: High
  • Identification: Mobile phone number or AES-enabled company e-mail address
  • Applies to: Documents without legal form requirement and with calculable liability risk
    For instance:
    • Rental agreement
    • Personal insurance
    • Purchase agreement
    • Partnership agreement
    • Non-disclosure agreement
    • Patent, trademark or copyright contract
  • Trust and security: Identity verified using official identity document, triggering of signature with one factor authentication (LOA 3)
    For instance:
    • Identity check when signing a contract with a mobile phone number
    • Expression of intent with mTAN

Qualified electronic signature

  • Legal weight: Maximal
  • Identification: Online identification via video (EU)/ Face-to-face identification (Switzerland)/ verified eID and mobile phone number
  • Applies to: Documents with legal form requirements or high liability risk
    For instance:
    • Audit report
    • Bank account opening
    • Consumer loan contract
    • Consumer credit contract
    • Temporary employment or rental contract
  • Trust and security: Identity verified by authorised entities, triggering of signature by means of two factor authentication (LOA 4)
    For instance:
    • Identification by trained person (in-person or video call)
    • Expression of intent with mTAN
